Q.: I have 3 Gb of RAM, but the Debug Output includes the message 'No enough memory'. I have 150 millions clusters on the volume I am trying to defrag.

A.: You have too many clusters on the specified volume. Since you have 150 millions of clusters, you must have more than 150 Mb of nonpaged memory. All versions of Windows that UltraDefrag run on (at least Windows 2000, XP, and 2003) allow a maximum of 256 Mb of nonpaged memory. In addition, if you use boot parameter /3GB limit is 128 Mb. Note that many drivers besides ultradfg.sys use nonpaged memory!

There are few ways how YOU, the user, can fix this problem:
1. Increase cluster size of volume. This is probably a good idea for performance reasons.
2. Buy new PC with a 64 bit processor, and install a 64 bit version of Windows. 64 bit versions of WIndows support up to 128 Gb of nonpaged memory.
3. Split your big volume into several smaller partitions. Each partition will have less clusters.

Q.: How can I use filters?

A.: The include field is where you enter substring expressions that match file names (incl. path) that you want to defragment. And the exclude field expressions disable defragmentation of matching files. You can enter multiple expressions, separating each with a semicolon (;). The next field in the form is captioned 'Ignore files greater than.' Files over this size are not dedragmented. You may specify sizes with the following suffixes: (Kb | Mb | Gb | Tb).

Q.: I've seen message "Can't load ultradfg driver!" on Windows Vista. I think that Vista is preventing this driver from loading because the signature check is enabled. How can I disable it?

A.: Thanks to Christopher Naegel for providing the following instructions:

1. Open a command line with admin-rights:
Start -> execute -> CMD (with admin rights).
2. Type:
bcdedit /set loadoptions "DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS"
bcdedit /set nointegritychecks ON
3. Close the command prompt and start group policy editor:
Start -> execute -> gpedit.msc
4. Go to:
User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System ->
Driver Installation -> Code Signing for device drivers
5. Enable this policy and set it to Ignore state.

The Print Logger FE software is intended for a print management (print control and audit printing activity) for printers at print workstation, based on Windows NT operation systems family. At this time this family includes Windows 2000/XP and Windows Vista. The program inspects the print jobs on a computer, where software is installed.


Main assignment of the program - collection of the information about sizes (in pages) for local print jobs and record it to the database for the subsequent analysis or creation reports about printing activity.

What is Mercury ?

Mercury is a Java-based MSN client.

MenuMeters is a set of CPU, memory, disk, and network monitoring tools for MacOS X. Although there are numerous other programs which do the same thing, none had quite the feature set I was looking for. Most were windows that sat in a corner or on the desktop, which are inevitably obscured by document windows on a PowerBook’s small screen. Those monitors which used the menubar mostly used the NSStatusItem API, which has the annoying tendency to totally reorder my menubar on every login.

The MenuMeters monitors are true SystemUIServer plugins (also known as Menu Extras). This means they can be reordered using command-drag and remember their positions in the menubar across logins and restarts.

• The CPU Meter can display system load both as a total percentage, or broken out as user and system time. It can also graph user and system load and display the load as a “thermometer”. The menu for the CPU Meter contains several pieces of information I like to have a single click away (uptime, load average, open Process Viewer, open Console).
• The Disk Activity Meter displays disk activity to local disks on the system (anything that is a IOKit BlockStorage driver). It is hotplug aware, and will show activity on FireWire and USB disks as they are mounted. The Disk Meter menu shows volume space details for local drives (it does not display mounted network volumes for speed reasons).
• The Memory Meter can display current memory usage as either a pie chart, thermometer, history graph, or as used/free totals. The Memory Meter menu shows a breakdown of current memory usage and VM statistics. The Memory Meter can optionally display a paging indicator light.
• The Net Meter can display network throughput as arrows, bytes per second, and/or as a graph. Both the arrows and the graph are scaled using a user-selected scaling factor and calculation. Scaling can be done on the basis of actual link speed reported by the network interface or peak traffic and can use one of several scaling calculations. The Net Meter menu shows current interfaces and their status. Interface information is gathered from the SystemConfiguraton framework and thus is MacOS X network location aware (to prevent interfaces from appearing in this menu see the FAQ).

The Blender 2.44 version released

Blender is the free open source 3D content creation suite, available for all major operating systems under the GNU General Public License.

Blender 2.44 is the latest release from the Blender Foundation. This version now is fully 64 bits compatible, new modifers were added, a couple of composite nodes were added, and a revamp of the old mesh primitives was done.

Sculpt and Multires

The previous release was the first Blender version to offer 3d sculpt and multi-res. Based on welcome feedback and reporting, a lot of bug fixes and improvements were added.

New Modifiers

Two new modifiers are available now; “Smooth” and “Cast”.

Subsurface Scattering

Subsurface scattering is a new material option to render materials like skin, marble or milk. For these materials light scatters under the surface and leaves at another position. This leads to a softer appearance, as light is blurred out over the surface.

New Composite Nodes

Two new Composite nodes had been added, that can be accessed by the Add > Color menu, expanding further the possibilities of the Composite node editor.

Character Animation

The Action and NLA editors have now better control over visible channels. A new constraint was added, and a “preview range” option was added.
